Parallel, Intersecting, Perpendicular, and Skew Lines

  • Skew lines are two lines that do not meet, no matter how far they are extended.

  • They are not parallel, which means they do not run next to each other.

  • They are also not in the same plane, meaning they don’t lie in the same flat surface.

  • Skew lines can be imagined as two sticks held next to each other, but not parallel.

  • If you imagine one stick as a road going straight ahead and the other stick as a bridge crossing over the road, they will never meet each other.

  • That’s what makes them skew lines!
